Watch – learn - do, that is the motto in the numerous demonstrator workshops in and around the resort of Oberwiesenthal. Watch the professionals up close, learn the manual skills and then try it yourself. A special highlight for every holiday, in which you can make your souvenirs yourself.
Seit 1986, bereits in der zweiten Generation, fertigt Familie Trinks hochwertige Korbwaren und Rattanmöbel. In den 200 m² großen Ladenräumen finden Sie Körbe, Lampen, Möbel und Flechtwerke aus eigener Herstellung. Immer neue Ideen für Flechtwerke und Innovationen verleihen den Rattanmöbeln eine Einzigartigkeit. Alle Modelle sind zumal meist Einzelstücke und werden nach den Wünschen des Kunden hergestellt. Als Materialien dienen ausschließlich Naturstoffe wie Weiden, Rattan und Holzfurniere, aber auch Glas und Metall.

Im erzgebirgischen Kurort Oberwiesenthal baut der Familienbetrieb Kunstgewerbe Taulin seit 1990 innovative Weihnachtspyramiden, Schwibbögen und Lichterspitzen. Einst von Karl-Ludwig Taulin im Schuppen seines Wohnhauses begründet, beschäftigt die inzwischen von seiner Tochter Katja Taulin geführte Werkstatt mittlerweile 20 Angestellte, kunstfertige Holzhandwerker, die in echter Handarbeit die Tradition der erzgebirgischen Volkskunst aufleben lassen.

Aromatic candles such as the fine-smelling spheres from the Erzgebirge are very popular around Christmas time. In Neudorf, aromatic candles made of natural raw materials were already being manufactured in the 1930s based on old family recipes. Along with the manufacture of aromatic candles, various aromatic candle ovens and aromatic vessels made of tin are made in this area.
In 2007, a demonstrator workshop was opened in the centre of Neudorf. There you can experience aromatic candle making yourself. Along with the manufacture of aromatic candles, you can take a walk through the history and tradition of the “Karzl” – manufacture in the Erzgebirge.

In the lovingly furnished sales exhibition, Räucherkerzenland [name of the business] offers tours where you can learn the history of aromatic incense and the company’s rich traditions. View all of the production machinery and learn about the raw materials used in aromatic candles.
Make aromatic candles yourself, just like they did 80 years ago. Knead the dough, create an aromatic and shape the aromatic candles by hand just like the company’s founder, Freya Graupner, did in 1936 in her small kitchen.
